Certified Farmer Program
Agricultural products (and all products at our market) are locally made and were produced within 100 miles of Denton.
Locally Made
As a producer-only market, all of our vendors must be the producer of their products. The farmer produces everything sold at their booth each Saturday. No resale allowed.
Producer-Only
Agricultural producers at our market always use sustainable practices. The DCM staff visited the farm and saw evidence of sustainable farming practices, including chemical-free and/or natural methods, as well as humane treatment of farm animals.
Sustainable
The Denton Community Market Certified Farmer Program has been supporting agricultural producers since 2018. Each farmer will have the program medallion posted at their booth.
Farmer’s Working Group
The Farmers Working Group meets three to four times per year to address the specific needs of farmers who are members of the Denton Community Market. The Working Group also provides recommendations on special farm products that are produced outside of the 100-mile radius for final approval by the Board of Directors.
Current Farmers Working Group Member Farms: Tree Folk, Jubilee Farm, iRelish, Reeve’s Bees.
SNAP
Customers who have SNAP benefits may make qualified purchases at the market. We received a grant in partnership with the City of Denton to enable lower income individuals to purchase fresh produce, agricultural products, and staple foods.
For STAPLE FOODS: Fruits and vegetables; breads and cereals; meat, fish, and poultry; and dairy products. Seeds and plants intended to grow food (herbs, vegetables, fruits, and nuts).
Please visit the DCM booth near the Farmer’s District entrance (near banner) to obtain DCM $1 wooden tokens (as many as you need for purchases) that can be used for qualified items: fresh produce, meat, eggs, jams, other canned goods, plants for growing food, and baked items are all qualified items for purchase. Ask for a list from Market staff.

WIC
Customers who have WIC benefits may make qualified purchases at the Denton Community Market. The Market received a USDA grant in partnership with the City of Denton to enable lower income individuals to purchase fresh produce and other agricultural products.
For fresh fruits and vegetables, get a required shopping list from WIC office to receive voucher booklet. Seeds and plants intended to grow food (herbs, vegetables, fruits, and nuts).
Please visit the Denton Community Market booth near the Farmer's District entrance (near banner) to obtain a WIC FMNP Voucher booklet. Each Voucher booklet has 5 vouchers worth $6 each (total $30/voucher booklet) that can be used for qualified items (fresh fruits, vegetables, and herbs).
Farmers that accept WIC will display a blue FMNP Poster. Ask for a list from Market staff. Visit booth #69 for more questions!
