About the Market
The Denton Community Market (DCM) is a 501c3 nonprofit producer-only farmer’s market and art marketplace located in the heart of downtown Denton, Texas. Since 2010, DCM has grown into a vibrant hub for farmers, makers, and artists to showcase their work, featuring live music, family activities, food trucks, artisan goods, and more. Our mission is to connect the community with local producers while creating an atmosphere that celebrates culture, creativity, and sustainability.
The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Market Operations Coordinator (MOC) to play a key role in the success of our growing market. The MOC will oversee all aspects of weekly market operations, including vendor coordination, market layout, membership management, and on-site logistics. This position also involves supervising market staff and volunteers, ensuring smooth operations for customers and vendors, and supporting programs like WIC, SNAP, and DUFB. Reporting directly to the Board President, the MOC will help maintain DCM’s high standards of safety, efficiency, and community impact.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, detail-oriented, and passionate about local food systems and small business support. They will thrive in a fast-paced environment, balancing administrative responsibilities with hands-on work at market events. This position requires availability for Saturday markets, special events, and occasional farm visits, as well as the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
